Friend Rick alerted us to this possibility for extending a Convict Canyon hike.

It does look interesting. We’ve loved past Convict Canyon hikes – I think we must have always stopped where the pouroff from Lake Genevieve comes into Convict Creek in a nice cascade. One has to cross Convict Creek there somehow and it isn’t a pleasant prospect when the water’s high (the bridge is always washed out).
Now we have some motivation!

A friend just got from Mt Baldwin and gave me some calcite crystals from an abandoned mine (if you could call it that at 11K feet).
