  • Corn and Potato Frittata

Posted on July 15, 2008 8:06 pm by funintheslots@gmail.com Comment

  • My favorite protein shake

    • 1 C orange juice or milk (obviously you lose the orange taste) or both
    • 1 frozen banana, sectioned (good use for those “overripers”, I break them in half, bag them and freeze them)
    • 1 C frozen blueberries (optional, but yummy and good for you)

    Blend until smooth

    • 1 or 2 scoops vanilla whey powder (depends on how protein-y you want it) added with blender on low

    Blend until well mixed

    • Several ice cubes. Number will depend on how frozen you want it, how hot it is, temperature of other ingredients. I like stiff milkshake consistency Continue reading → Post ID 38

On the way home from Yosemite, we stopped at a farmer’s fruit and vegetable stand and, among other things, picked up a couple dozen ears of sweet corn. I thought of using the sweet corn in this recipe I’ve been making for over 35 years… Continue reading → Post ID 38

  • Ridge Scramble

Posted on July 10, 2008 4:19 pm by funintheslots@gmail.com Comment

This morning we woke up and Dena was still non-ambulatory from our previous two days’ activities, so Carol, Jordan and I took off to climb up on top of a ridgeline we could see from our campground. There was no trail; we were making this up as we went. Dena stayed behind to have an easy day. Continue reading → Post ID 38

Today we decided to leave our little piece of paradise as the temperatures in Yosemite Valley were forecasted to remain in triple digits. We headed for Tioga Pass on the east side of Yosemite NP with the hope of snagging a campsite at Tioga Lake campground. Continue reading → Post ID 38

Having camped overnight at Yosemite Lakes and gotten going early, we arrived at Happy Isles in Yosemite Valley a little after 8 a.m. Our plan was to hike the Mist Trail up to Vernal Fall. This is an easy 3 mile round trip hike with 1,000 feet of elevation gain. Continue reading → Post ID 38
